* Win a chance to play and sing on live radio,
gain international exposure, say "thank you" to the troops, and
win free recording studio time!
* There will be three (3) Rounds of competition for the Talent Contest
over the next several months. The following rules will be the same for
all three Rounds.
* The following dates apply to Round 1.
Dates for Rounds 2 and 3 will be announced later.
* Each act or individual must play live at one of
the Abbott's Bar & Grill Open Mic nights on Wednesdays between now and
August 6, 2008.
* Dave Craver will record each live performance
and will deliver a CD of each performance to the judges. (Participants
will not receive CDs of their performances if submitted for the Talent
Contest.)
* If chosen as a Finalist, eachparticipant must be
willing and available and
available to play live and sing live on the America's Freedom Broadcast
radio show on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 between 8 and 10 PM.
* The genre of choice is Country music primarily;
some crossover music may also be considered.
* Both original and cover tunes are acceptable.
* The maximum number of persons per "act or
participant" is two. Each person can both play an instrument
and sing, or one can play and the other can sing., etc.
* All instruments played during the Open Mic
competitions and at live broadcasts must be acoustic, such as acoustic guitar,
fiddle, banjo, etc. The studio will not be setting up for electric
keyboards or guitar amps, etc., or drums.
* There will be a total of three (3) Finalists chosen
from all the live performances submitted for each Round.
* The Finalists will be chosen by the judges,
Georgia-Country.com, AFB Radio, and Groove Tunes Studios.
* All three Finalists will perform (and be
interviewed) live at Groove Tunes Studios on the August 26, 2008 AFB Radio
international broadcast between 8 to 10 PM. The artists will gain
international exposure and will have the opportunity to say "thank
you" to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan live on the air!
* Fans of AFB Radio will vote for their favorite artists during the show.
* The Finalist with the most votes will be crowned Round 1 Semi-Finalist
Winner, earning a chance to advance to the Final Round of competition.
* There will be two more Rounds of competition following Round 1.
Semi-Finalist Winners will also be crowned for Rounds 2 and 3.
* After the 3rd Round is finished, the three Semi-Finalist Winners will
compete head-to-head on live radio for the Grand Prize. Again, the fans
will vote for their favorite artist.
* The Grand Prize Winner will play an encore live performance on AFB Radio and
will receive a certificate for eight (8) hours of recording studio time at
Groove Tunes Studios in Alpharetta, GA!
