Jeff Carlisi: A Brief Bio
Born July 15, 1952 in Queens, N.Y. Grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
Within two weeks after graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in Architecture in 1974, Jeff became a founding member and lead guitarist for the rock group 38 Special. Over the next twenty-three years, they enjoyed a string of hit songs that included Hold on Loosely, Caught Up in You, and A Heart Needs a Second Chance, selling over 12 million records for A&M Records. Jeff was also a spokesperson, as well as a songwriter for the band.
After leaving the band in 1997, having performed live for 22 years on world wide tours, he started to work with NASCAR creating a line of officially licensed guitars featuring Jeff Gordon and Rusty Wallace. He continues to tour on a limited basis with ex- Bad Co. singer, Brian Howe as well as Billy Joel's drummer, Liberty DeVitto.
Partnered with his long time friend Dan Lipson, his most recent project is working with fellow musicians and friends to help children who have a passion for music; stressing self-confidence, team work, and sound work ethics through summer camps.
